As part of All That Scratch

The Other Palace

Music and Lyrics by Ollie Clark
Book by Daisy Horan

Most Notorious is a brand new musical from Ollie Clark and Daisy Horan, telling the tale of Anne Bonny and Mary Read, female pirates. Both rejecting the roles they were expected to play in 18th century society, they join the crew of captain Jack Rackham instead, forging their own paths and making a name for themselves in a cutthroat and merciless way. Follow their journey as they navigate love, life and crossdressing on the open ocean and discover exactly what is possible when you stick two fingers up to what you’re told to be. This is a show about making your mark, about leaving a dent in history and not letting any constraints hold you back, all set to an upbeat tapestry of genre-defying musical styles.

'The Phase' is a coming of age story about a group of students at an all-girls Catholic school whose band has been disbanded due to their “inappropriate” LGBTQ+ positive content which does not conform to the hetero-norms the school believes in.
Told from the perspective of the lead guitarist Rowan, a non-binary adult, this musical explores the struggles of mental health, relationships and the issues still facing LGBTQ+ pupils today.

“Knock, knock
Knock at the door
The ominous menacing creak of the floor
You’ll scratch and you’ll scratch till you’re bloody and raw
The Sandman’s coming to get you.”

The Sandman is a brand new musical thriller about friendship, art and the supernatural, loosely based on the short story by E. T. A. Hoffmann. Nat, a talented fashion designer, is stalked by the figure of the Sandman, a character from her childhood mysteriously connected to her parent’s death. As the Sandman strengthens his grip on Nat, reality and nightmares begin to blur.

"The ensemble scenes showcase the cast’s vocal skills, comic timing and ability to effortlessly switch between characters and efficiently establish new locations." - The Up Coming

"...the ensemble singing in this show is generally impressive (musical director Jamie Noar is onside on keys along with Kat Bax on bass), especially when they become a choir and sing Blake’s beautiful version of Psalm 23." - Musical Theatre Review

"This show is about giving the performers the chance to shine, and shine they really did. Convincing, engaging and committed performances from them all. " - View From The Cheap Seat

The BRIT School

Music and Lyrics by Cole Porter

Book by Bella and Samuel Spewack
Kiss Me Kate tells the story of a production of a musical version of William Shakespeare's ‘The Taming of the Shrew’ and the conflict on and off-stage between Fred Graham, the show's director, producer, and star, and his leading lady, his ex-wife Lilli Vanessi.

"The Brit School’s Kiss Me Kate was a classy, slick and captivating presentation. And that’s in no small part down to the commitment of the cast. Filled with vibrancy throughout, the ensemble totally nailed it and you could feel and electricity reverberating around the auditorium during the big company numbers." - thesweetlondonlife
